Technology
BCCHS is a 1-to-1 technology school. Each student is provided with a touch screen Chromebook to use during their time at the school. At graduation or upon transferring, Chromebooks are to be returned.
Our classrooms are equipped with Smart projectors and other equipment to facilitate student learning. BCCHS has PC and Mac labs for specific courses of study, 3D printers, and a classroom set of laptops and tablets for Animation students.
Technology support is provided on campus for students and staff.
Tech Support is available on campus for students daily (M-F), from 7:30 AM to 4 PM in the Textbook room. You can also receive assistance by emailing IT@birminghamcharter.com - a Help Desk ticket will be created for you.
Chromebook Best Practices
- Turn off your Chromebook every night.
- Don't hold the Chromebook by the screen.
- Keep liquids away from your Chromebook.
- Don't close the lid with papers (or anything else) inside.
Software best practices for a successful school year
- Check your email daily.
- Use the To Do list in Google Classroom to stay on top of your assignments.
- Check grades & attendance on Aeries.
- Stay in contact with your teachers and email them if you have questions or issues.
- Create a secure password (8+ characters, mix of numbers, letters & symbols) - never use the generic password you are assigned.
