Early Leave

• Only parents/guardians listed as contacts in Aeries may submit an early leave request for a student.
• Individuals listed as emergency contacts may pick up a student; however, only a parent/guardian may submit the request.
• Paper notes, email requests, and phone requests will no longer be accepted.

1. Early leave requests must be submitted electronically through the Attendance Portal (www.bhs.schoolriver.com) no later than 8:20 a.m. to allow the Summer School Office sufficient time to verify the request. Please submit requests as soon as you become aware that your student will need to leave early.
2. Students must pick up their Early Leave Pass before attending the class from which they will be leaving. Passes may be picked up from the Summer School Office/Counseling Center before school or during lunch.
3.  At the time indicated on the pass, students must present the Early Leave Pass to their teacher and then submit it to the supervision personnel at the Haynes Gate before leaving campus.

If an early leave request is not submitted before 8:20 a.m., or if a student must be picked up unexpectedly, the following procedure will be followed:

1. A parent/guardian or verified emergency contact must be physically present at the Haynes Gate to pick up the student.
2. Only parents/guardians listed as contacts in Aeries may submit an early leave request. Although emergency contacts may pick up the student, the request itself must be completed by a parent/guardian through the Attendance Portal (bhs.schoolriver.com). Paper notes, email requests, or phone calls will not be accepted.
3. Please be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes for your student. The following steps must be completed before a student may be released from campus:

i. Early Leave Request Submitted
ii. Early Leave Request Verified
iii. Student Summoned from Class
iv. Student Picks Up Early Leave Pass from the Counseling Center
v. Student Reports to the Haynes Gate to Meet the Parent/Guardian or Emergency Contact

The safety and security of our students remain our highest priority. These procedures are necessary to ensure that students are released only to authorized individuals and that all departures are properly documented.
